The Real Housewives of Orange County has not announced the season 17 release date, but they did wrap filming in April 2022.

One addition to RHOC for season 17 has been announced. Taylor Armstrong is joining the ladies of Orange County. Taylor is a former member of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. This makes her the first housewife to cross over from one franchise to another.

8 Taylor Armstrong Was An Original RHOBH
Taylor Armstrong started RHOBH in season one, along with Kim Richards, Kyle Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, and Adrienne Maloof. Armstrong appeared on the first three seasons. Kyle is the only one who remains on the show.
Taylor spoke on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast about the original cast really being friends, as opposed to the cast now. “I think we were so emotionally connected because we cared about one another." She went on to say, "I think that that bond is something that, without that it becomes very artificial television."
7 Was Taylor Armstrong Abused?
Taylor Armstrong appeared to have it all. She was a RHOBH, beautiful, had a beautiful daughter, and a gorgeous home. But, during season two, rumors began to go around that Taylor's husband, Russell Armstrong was physically abusive towards her.
At the season two reunion, Taylor told Andy Cohen, and her fellow housewives, that the rumor was true. She said the abuse started five years earlier, when she was pregnant with their daughter, Kennedy. She also claimed that Russell threatened to bankrupt her and Kennedy if she went to the authorities.
She filed for divorce shortly after.
6 What Happened To Taylor Armstrong's Husband?
Russell Armstrong died by suicide in 2011.
Taylor spoke with the podcast, Divorce Sucks! With Laura Wasser, and told her what happened. "I went to go meet him one day, and his office was dark and he wasn't there and he was a workaholic, so it was completely unusual for that to be the case. And I just had this sinking feeling that something terrible had happened," she said. "And it had never crossed my mind in the past. He was very narcissistic and not someone you would ever think would take their life. But ultimately, I had found him hanging in the house that he had moved into."
Taylor continued on for season three but ultimately left before season four.
5 Taylor Armstrong's New Life And New Love
After Russell's death, Taylor Armstrong was faced with some legal troubles. She inherited the financial mess he left behind. During her legal battles, she met attorney, John Bluher. The two fell for each other and, after dating, they married in 2014. Taylor says that she has never been happier.
Taylor also took some time to write a book about what she went through titled, Hiding From Reality: My Story of Love, Loss, and Finding the Courage Within. In it, she writes about abuse from her husband, as well as suffering abuse as a child. Taylor wanted to share her story to help other women.

After leaving RHOBH, Taylor made a few guest appearances, but had not been on a Bravo series since 2016. Then suddenly, she appeared on season two of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
She said about joining the show on #NoFilter With Zach Peter podcast, “My life has changed so much that it’s almost like a completely different life now, which I think is gonna be really fun for the new ‘Ultimate Girls Trip’ because people are gonna see me in such a different light."
She and former RHOBH Brandi Glanville, clashed on their trip to Dorinda Medley's Blue Stone Manor. Brandi said about Taylor, “But I think she was just really self-producing and looking for some camera time.”

Taylor Armstrong confirmed that she will be joining RHOC for season 17. Her friend, Tamra Judge, is thrilled to have her, "Not only am I returning to RHOC for season 17 but my girl Taylor Armstrong is joining me along for the ride," Judge wrote. "Double the trouble coming your way." she said on social media.
Armstrong told People, "And when I watched season 1 of Beverly Hills, I was like, 'Eek!' I was like a Stepford Wife. It was just weird to even watch myself realizing I had lost a lot of laughter and a lot of life. So now that I have it back, I'm excited for the fans and the viewers and people who are also coming off of the domestic violence situation to know there is life after."
Production on season 17 of RHOC began in July.
