Stratus was born in Toronto, Canada in 1975 to parents of Polish and Greek descent. She grew up with two younger sisters and was a fan of wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage during her childhood. Stratus attended Bayview Secondary School in Richmond Hill and later enrolled at York University to study biology and kinesiology while playing soccer and field hockey.
Career Beginnings
While working as a receptionist at a local gym, Stratus was approached by the publisher of “MuscleMag International” to do a test shoot for the magazine. This opportunity launched her career in fitness modeling.
Stratus’s Rise to Fame
After being discovered, Stratus appeared on numerous magazine covers, including the May 1998 issue of “MusicleMag International.” She signed a two-year modeling contract and also began hosting “Live Audio Wrestling” on Toronto Sports Radio along with co-hosts Big Daddy Donnie and Jeff Marek.
By November of 1999, her fitness modeling work caught the attention of the World Wrestling Federation and they signed her to a multi-year contract. She was sent to train at Sully’s Gym with trainer and professional wrestler, Ron Hutchinson.

Trish Stratus made her wrestling debut in 2000 as a valet and manager for the tag team Test and Prince Albert. She eventually made her in-ring debut and developed a storyline feud with Lita. Stratus went on to win the WWF Women’s Championship and was involved in a number of storylines to maintain the title. She also had an on-screen romance with Chris Jericho and won the championship for a fifth time in 2004. Stratus continued wrestling on a part-time basis and made guest appearances on WWE specials after 2010. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 and briefly returned to the ring for a few matches in 2018.
Outside of wrestling, Stratus has appeared in television shows and opened her own yoga studio in Toronto in 2008. She has also appeared in 26 WWE video games.
Personal Life and Charitable Work
In September 2006, Stratus married her high school sweetheart Ron Frisco, and they have two children together. She has been involved in various charity organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, Dreams Take Flight, and the Special Olympics.
