Keri Russell Wears Fitted Gown Weeks After Baby: Tonys 2016
She didn’t miss a beat! Keri Russell wowed on the 2016 Tony Awards red carpet less than three weeks after giving birth. The Americans actress, 40, introduced the performance for Waitress at the New York City awards ceremony on Sunday, June 12, wearing a sexy red dress that showed off her already slim post-baby body.
Russell, who’s in a relationship with her Americans costar Matthew Rhys, chose a plunging long-sleeved Monique Lhuillier gown that matched the red carpet and rose wall at the Beacon Theatre. The crepe dress’ silver embellishment on the shoulders and sleeves, which were finished with bow tie cuffs, complemented her metallic Emm Kuo clutch and silver Giuseppe Zanotti Design sandals, visible underneath her daring thigh-high slit. The mom to River, 9, and Willa, 4, wore her hair in a low bun that allowed her silver Atelier Swarovski by Peter Pilotto earrings to shine.
Us Weekly exclusively reported that Russell, who gave birth in late May, has plenty of support at home as she adjusts to her newest little one. Her mom and brother “have been staying with Keri for the last week, spending all their time doting over the baby,” a source tells Us. “Keri and Matt both look overjoyed and are over the moon to be new parents. They are always snapping pictures of the baby, and family and friends have been sending gifts.”
During the Television Critics Association’s press tour in January, Rhys opened up about how Russell’s pregnancy affected her role in the FX series about Soviet KGB officers pretending to be an American married couple.
“She’s now incredibly effective with a blow dart from a seated position at 12 meters,” he joked.
