Ellen DeGeneres Parody Of Nicki Minajs New Sitcom Did Not Sit Well With Twitter...

An Ellen DeGeneres Show skit that spoofed Nicki Minaj‘s upcoming television series has Twitter users outraged.

The parody, which DeGeneres happily presented as an “exclusive” clip from the rapper’s ABC Family series about her life in Queens, New York, saw actors play young Nicki and her parents living the average American home life (dog included) with one exception: their backsides are so large the Minaj home is destroyed with the most minor of movements.

The skit began with young Nicki happily trotting downstairs after her mother asked if she left her shoes on the first level. Immediately, the actress bent over, displaying the huge prosthetic backside that went on to cause adornments throughout the home to fall to the ground. The characters who played Minaj’s parents followed suit as their backsides also made fruit and a living room lamp hit the floor seemingly to the trio’s blissful obliviousness. After the family struggled for couch space because of their large behinds, Buddy, the family dog, ran in with some buns of his own prior to the skit’s close.

The parody, which ran during yesterday’s episode of Ellen, has been met with uproar amongst fans, some of whom considered it “racist”:

Ellen DeGeneres disappointed me w/ that Nicki Minaj skit. It was lazy and tasteless at best. Racist & a modern day minstrel show at worst. — Taryn Finley (@_TARYNitUP) October 13, 2015

The @ellenDegeneres_ “parody” of Niki Manaj is extraordinarily offensive. Really, WHAT are people thinking? In 2015? http://t.co/QMDBl9oZLC

I try not to be reactionary to every thing but Ellen didn’t think this went too far!? http://t.co/lcV2Xibbm1 — the III. (@GeekNStereo) October 13, 2015
