When Roger Howarth first came on General Hospital after One Life To Live got axed, he was first FRANCO THEN DR. AUSTIN GATLIN-HOLT NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

I thought he first came on as his OLTL character Todd Manning.

He did. He was Todd for a short time. Then there was a lawsuit where GH couldn’t use the OLTL characters. Bye bye Todd, Starr, and John. Hello Franco, Kiki, and Silas!

Don’t forget, Roger was Todd Manning on GH when OLTL got cancelled and Todd, along with his daughter Starr, and John McBain came over from OLTL. The lawsuit by the Prospect Park folks forced GH to jettison Howarth’s Todd, so GH revived the character of Franco for Howarth.

During his extensive career in daytime, Roger Howarth has spent over 10 years at GENERAL HOSPITAL, in three different roles.

In 2012, he moved his ONE LIFE TO LIVE character of Todd Manning to Port Charles, but legal difficulties forced the soap to recast him in a new role, so he began playing Franco Baldwin the following year.

In 2021, the soap killed off Franco and soon brought Howarth back as the brand new character, Austin Gatlin-Holt. But then that character also met with a violent end, bringing a close to the actor’s run on the soap.
